Role Overview
As a Battery Module Designer, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical design of battery modules, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of heavy-duty maritime applications. You will be involved in cell selection, thermal management, mechanical enclosure design, and electrical integration to optimize performance, safety, and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop battery modules for marine applications, to get module designs to ensure reliability, safety and manufacturability.
- Create detailed mechanical and electrical requirements and designs for the battery module but also contribute in the design of the battery pack.
- Initiate and partly conduct thermal, structural, and electrical simulations to optimize module performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maritime regulations.
- Work closely with battery systems engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to ensure a seamless transition from design to production.
- Maintain technical documentation for designs, simulations, and test results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in battery module design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software, electrical design tools and other simulation tools.
- Knowledge of battery safety and certification standards.
- The candidate should have practical mindset, related to module design and assembly as well as a strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to troubleshoot complex design issues.
