Role Overview
As the Head of Design for Battery Systems in our Operations department, you will be responsible for leading and developing the technical work within design and production improvement of complete battery systems and related mechanical and electrical components. You will ensure that solutions meet requirements in terms of performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and the R&D department.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design work for battery systems in customer projects.
• Be responsible for the team's deliveries within mechanical and electrical design
(CAD, drawings, specifications).
• Ensure technical quality and compliance with requirements, structural integrity,
thermal management, enclosure design, and product interfaces.
• Ensure that the product and its components are tested before delivery to the
customer.
• Be responsible for ensuring that product and customer documentation is
accurate and usable.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and project management departments.
• Develop and implement design standards, tools, and processes.
• Drive technical decisions in design reviews and act as the technical requirements
owner in projects.
• Support industrialization and production adaptation in collaboration with
production and suppliers.
• Be responsible for competence development, recruitment, and leadership within
the design team.
Qualifications
• At least 7 years of experience in the design of complex systems, preferably within
battery technology, the automotive or shipping industry, or energy storage.
• Experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks), electrical design tools
(e.g., E-Plan), and PDM systems.
• Knowledge of battery safety, thermal- and structure design, EMC, and IP
classification is a plus.
• Previous experience as a team leader, project manager, or in a managerial role is
highly meritorious.
• Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English
